What devices can I use a data plan with?

Using a data-only SIM with your mobile device

Need data, but not the mobile calls? Our data plans might be just the ticket – you just need to make sure you’ve got the right device in hand.

Compatible devices

Belong’s data plans use the Telstra network, which means your device will need to support Telstra’s mobile frequencies.

  • For 3G, it needs to support the 850 MHz band.
    Telstra is shutting down its 3G network on 30 June 2024. After this, you’ll need a device that supports Telstra’s 4G and 5G frequencies.

  • For 4G, it needs to support the 700 MHz band.

  • For 5G, it needs to support the 3.6 GHz band.

You can usually find which frequencies your device supports on the box, or on the manufacturer’s website.

Remember, you can only access the 5G network with a 5G device. 5G devices can connect to both 4G and 5G networks, where 4G devices only have the right tech to connect to the 4G network.
