Transferring your number to belong

Process

When you request to transfer, we’ll speak to your existing mobile service provider to confirm your request. We won't be able to complete the transfer if it's not confirmed. If we run into any issues, we'll call you. Once it's confirmed, we'll initiate the transfer. This usually takes less than 4 hours, but it can take a couple of days and your service may be interrupted during this time. We'll send you a text when the transfer is complete. If the transfer takes more than a couple of days, try restarting your phone.

Delay

If the transfer takes more than a couple of days, we suggest you try turning your phone off and on. If after 30 days the transfer has failed, you must return the SIM card to us. If not, we might bill you for a mobile service.

Transfer enquiries

If you have any questions about the transfer, please contact us. Get in touch if you want to confirm that the transfer has occurred or to lodge an enquiry or complaint about the transfer, to determine handset compatibility or any other service related matter. If you're experiencing any faults with your service whilst it is being transferred to Belong please contact your existing mobile service provider.

Confirmation

You confirm:

  • you’re authorised to transfer this mobile number; and

  • you’ve been advised that by transferring this mobile number, the service and/or related services associated with that number may be disconnected from your existing provider, and may result in finalisation of your account.

Authorisation

You authorise:

  • transferring this number to Belong, and

  • disclosing this number and details of this transfer to other providers, suppliers and financial institutions for the purpose of call and message routing, transferring this service, complaint handling, managing network faults and preventing and investigating fraud.

You acknowledge you’ve been advised that:

  • there may be costs and obligations associated with your existing mobile service and with transferring this mobile number;

  • you may have an existing contract with your existing provider; and

  • your contract may include an obligation to make early cancellation payments.

Your authorisation is valid for 30 days.
