Stay safe from phishing: Your guide to spotting scams
At Belong, your privacy and security matter to us. That’s why we’re committed to helping you stay one step ahead of online scams and phishing attempts.
We’ve recently seen a rise in phishing attempts targeting Belong customers. You can follow the tips below to spot them and keep yourself safe.
What is phishing?
Phishing is a sneaky way scammers try to steal your personal or financial details. This usually comes in the form of an email, SMS, or phone call that looks like it’s from a real company – maybe even Belong. These messages often ask you to click a link or provide information.
How to spot phishing attempts targeting Belong customers
Check the sender’s details. Be wary if the email or SMS is from a strange address or phone number
If you receive an SMS with a one-time code (for two-step verification), and you did not make a request on the Belong website, do not supply this code to anyone.
Do not share your Belong password with anyone.
If you’re ever in doubt, get in touch with us at or via live chat in the bottom right corner of the support page..
Forward suspicious SMSs to 7226 (SCAM) or hit ‘report spam’ (for compatible devices) so we can investigate.
