Important: The nbn™ network will replace existing ADSL services almost everywhere in Australia. It typically provides far greater speeds than ADSL can deliver. Check to see if you can .
Our ADSL speeds
We uses Telstra’s ADSL2+ network. It provides maximum download speeds of up to 20Mbps into the home and maximum upload speeds of up to 850 Kbps.
If ADSL2+ is unavailable in your area, you’ll receive an ADSL 1 service where available. ADSL 1 provides a maximum download speed of up to 8Mbps into the home, and maximum upload speeds of up to 384 Kbps.
Actual speeds may be lower and will vary based on a number of factors including;
distance to the exchange
internet traffic in your neighbourhood
how you use your service
the quality of your telephone line
how you’re connecting to your Belong modem
If you’ve used all of your monthly data allowance (and you’re not on an unlimited plan), your connection speed will automatically be slowed. You can check your data usage by or checking the Belong app.
The graph (below) shows theoretical maximum download speeds based on distance from the exchange. All ADSL/2+ internet service providers use the same infrastructure to connect to the exchange, meaning speeds in each area should be similar across different providers.
